Only twenty minutes…..

A couple of sketches done for the Twenty minute Challenge…

This is the first time I have grown onions and the first time I have managed to plait them together!  I know that this is only a short plait – some of it dropped away when I picked it up…  I shall use the other onions first and keep my plait hanging in the kitchen as long as possible.

(I am a little worried that I may be alarmed by a big bang as the plait falls to the floor in the middle of the night!)

I love to draw seed heads; poppy seed heads have a particularly fascinating appearance.  It is such fun to shake the seeds from the little pepper-pot heads, once the holes under the top plate have opened. I save them for use in the kitchen.

I love the freshness of your "twenty minute" works, but I also love the detail you get when you "plod" (I do that, too!)

I love your sketch! I also love the freshness of your quick sketches. I find quick sketches capture our immediate love of the scene. Well done!

Great idea and shows what can be achieved in a short time. Lovely sketches, and I am massively impressed with the home-grown onion plait: let us pray that it stays in place (at least at night ...).

I love the line and light wash of the onions, and that beetroot is so earthy, I can smell it. As a temporary inner city flat dweller (if that makes any sense), your blog also reminds me of what I'm missing by not having a garden or allotment.
